thats large coin for a chromebook even if its totl stuff! I do believe this is the base version & information technology can go upward to as much every bit usd$1649 for the i7 16gb version
Astonished Face!!!….& thats not counting the pixelpen which is another usd$99.

dont get me wrong – I have the Asus C302ca flip hybrid chromebook & I love information technology to death. with playstore on stable aqueduct, it has almost (not quite but close plenty) replaced my i5 windows lappie & nexus nine tablet. with merely a mediocre m3-6y30 cpu in my asus, performance is atleast equal to the i5 win10 lappie so the i5/7 on the pixelbook must fly like a rocketship. I’m unsure I get the reasoning behind the 128/256/512gb storage equally I’m non finding it easy to even fill up 1/2 of the 64gb on my asus. nearly of chromeOS apps are online/cloud based & android apps are on average only eleven.5mb.

Popular:   Google changed its search engine theme first to grey and now to pitch black

I’m thinking maybe this machine is more for developers or those looking to run a pure linux rig. otherwise, its fashion overkill & wayyyyyy overpriced for chromeOS.

dont go me wrong – I have the Asus C302ca flip hybrid chromebook & I love information technology to death. with playstore on stable channel, it has virtually (non quite only close plenty) replaced my i5 windows lappie & nexus 9 tablet. with only a mediocre m3-6y30 cpu in my asus, performance is atleast equal to the i5 win10 lappie so the i5/vii on the pixelbook must fly similar a rocketship. I’one thousand unsure I get the reasoning behind the 128/256/512gb storage as I’1000 not finding information technology easy to even make full i/2 of the 64gb on my asus. about of chromeOS apps are online/cloud based & android apps are on boilerplate only 11.5mb.

I have the same chromebook as you, thats nearly as good as it gets for a Chromebook, cant justify this pricing on the new Pixelbook. The Asus C302ca is about as much as people are willing to spend on a TOTL Chromebook IMO

Yea, I have to hold with you lot on that signal. Are there even any apps for Chrome Os that will take full reward of the underlying hardware?

I call up it looks awesome merely I think the price is steep for what you get. I would have been okay with $i,000 toll tag.

Not sure I’k seeing the value proposition really. For that cost, you could get a actually nice “normal” laptop that integrates pretty tightly into Google’s ecosystem anyway.

That’s my name…

Let’s kick back on the couch and watch Stranger Things two on a 12″ screen.

shockingly, I really like watching/streaming movies/tvshows on my 12.5″ Asus flip. the Asus has ane of the better displays I’ve seen & vids expect gorgeous on it. bcos I can ‘flip’ it to whichever position I want/similar, I can sentry it very close to my eyes & simulate a large screen display (esp in bed). colors could do with some actress vibrancy but the Asus as a total package, is indeed a beautiful thing to behold.

value aside, a chromebook isnt really ‘normal’ per se as i has to buy into chromeOS. if ane’s needs & requirements fits into that genre and so a hybrid chromebook is an amazing portable package & tin can be a tremendous value esp when one factors in playstore (a game changer IMHO).

12.five” may seem pocket-size to some but its just near the perfect size for casual lightduty portable usage (atleast for me). the ii.5lbs maybe heavy compared to a tab just its a featherweight compared with normal laptops. indeed I find it hard to carry around my xiv” i5 win10 lappie after living with the Asus. & did I mention the gorgeous brandish? makes me go…bleh…using other ‘normal’ lappies. the keyboard on the Asus is a pleasure to use equally well – more then than well-nigh lappies I’ve endemic.

flip it & I’ve got a perfectly usable tablet. I can safely say its not perfect as a tablet but its definitely usable & playing touchscreen games is very enjoyable. graphics nevertheless looks not bad fifty-fifty running fullscreen on games designed for phones. havent timed it but a total accuse is virtually an hour or less on the included type C 20v/2.25a 45w charger which btw is also intelligent enough to charge my phone. even legacy 5v/2.4a powerbanks charges it (albeit much slower).

sure its not as flexible every bit a win machine but for me, a chromebook is better (by alot) for emails, wordpro, surfing, watching youtube/kodi&other streaming sites ie.low-cal duty usage which is what 80-90% of what the full general population does.

I’m thinking this pixelbook is similar except on mega steroids. would love to take one but its a bit rich for my blood esp since my Asus (openbox at newegg @$507) fulfills my needs at (much) less than 1/2 the price.

The hardware is all there, what I need is:

  • an
    official
(read non-Crouton) style to run userland linux. It has plenty horse power to run bitbake, which is my daily work.
  • a VM to run Windows once in a blueish moon like filling tax return or those webapps that only work windows (Logitech Harmony).

The get-go rule of Fight Club is: you do non talk well-nigh Usenet
