Jim Carrey returns as The Cable Guy in Super Bowl ad

Jim Carrey slotted back into graphic symbol as his iconic character Chip Douglas, from 1996 flick The Cable Guy, in i of many star-studded Super Bowl advertising cameos.

The one-act-thriller stars the A-Lister as an eccentric cablevision installer who grew up with the television every bit his just babysitter.

Andrew McKechnie, who is the Verizon CCO and SV, told Adweek just how excited the actor was to reprise his character.

He said: ‘Carrey was pretty psyched to do this and felt like this was the correct time — you tin’t get a improve moment than the Super Bowl to do something similar this.

‘Hopefully, when the viewers meet it, it volition feel like a great story both from a cultural standpoint and, in terms of 25 years afterward, what The Cable Guy ultimately represents.’

The star shared an extended cutting of the commercial on his Twitter business relationship, with the caption: ‘For your consideration…the extended cut…get comfortable Gen Z…this is 90 whole seconds! :^P.’

Other stars to feature in Super Bowl ads included Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Coolidge, who appeared in a bizarre Uber Eats commercial.

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johannson and her husband Colin Jost starred in a viral Alexa ad, and Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek as Greek Gods in some other.
